Jason Eric Perlman is a filmmaker and screenwriter specializing in smart, high-stakes thrillers for film and television.
Since graduating from the University of Southern California with his Masters in film production/screenwriting, Jason has worked for two decades in the Hollywood industry. As a two time feature WGA writer and director, his most recent sci-fi thriller feature, “Site,” premiered at the Boston Film Festival and hit theaters in August, 2025.
Purely as a screenwriter, Jason is currently in the throes of two additional feature productions. He has written and is co-producing an action adventure based on the incredible true treasure hunt of Mel Fisher in search of the sunken Atocha Galleon. Oscar-nominated producer Judi Levine (“The Sessions”) is working alongside Perlman on the film. Additionally, Jason is moving forward with a psychological thriller helmed by Emmy-winner, Nancy Schwartzman. The film is being shepherded by Oscar-nominated producer Alexandra Milchan (“Tár,” “The Wolf of Wall Street”).
Equally active in television, Perlman wrote and created an environmentally-themed thriller that was initially developed with Warner Bros. Entitled “Smogtown,” the piece details LA’s air crisis and the Goliath battle with Big Auto that escalated to passing the national Clean Air Act. It’s based on the eponymous award-winning book by Chip Jacobs. Legendary ICM agency leader, Jeff Berg, has been representing this property. Jason also has another TV project currently courting cast attachments and aiming for production in the UK, where the material is set.
