Well, I have finally done it. LondonSWF has a new website, built on 100% new technology and architecture. It has been akin to the deadline from hell, trip to the dentist, or bedtime for my boy after a marathon in a Fortnite gaming session. Unwanted but absolutely needed.
And, ahhh… it’s done.
Well kinda.
Wait, what?
We are in beta testing really, making sure that everything works and links up. Loads of sessions, speakers and pitch execs still needing to be added – something that will happen over the coming weeks – but for now, I am pretty pleased with the new site.
The old one, which was built by Chris Wicket, was a marvel in its day, and TBH, it’s a minor miracle it lasted this long… but new PHP and very old code finally brought it down a few months back. Like HG Well’s ‘Invisible Man’, bits just started to disappear.
So farewell old site, you did indeed serve us all very well.
And hello new site, let’s get to know each other and see what adventures we can go on together.
And for you, our amazing community of creative and marvellous people… two requests… If you find something broken or displaying weirdly, can you let me know? And please include the link and any description of the error – you can mail me at chris@londonswf.com
Second, please be patient as we get up to speed adding all our speakers, sessions and pitch execs. We could not import them from the old site and have therefore taken this opportunity to make sure everyone’s headshot is up to date and their bio accurate too.
HOW EXCITING!
Thank you.
OK… Some speakers and sessions to edit and make live!
